Broke off a DAMN lug.......

I was just putting the winter rubs back on when wham, broke off a front right lug. Also I stripped another. Stupid me. Oh well I learned. Anyone know how to change out the lugs? How much do they cost to replace. Thanks, and Happy T-day.

P.S. This lug breaking cost me my T-Day. I was swapping to go to grandma's. Not exactly in the best of moods.

I did this to my friend's delly, Cost me like $6 for the lug and it cost like $30-$50 to get it replaced professionally at some allignment shop.

Bought the lugs for $2.50 for 2. I got the brake caliper, rotor, and I have banged out the Lugs. They seem to be blocked by the drive axle, therefor I can only get about half of the lugs out. I have also taken a 1 1/4 inch socket and tried to losen up the bolt that is in the center of the rotor (I pulled rotor off, I am just describing where it is) I cannot break the bolt loose. Even tried to bang the old hammer to it, nothing happened. My car is totally not driveable, I need to get this fixed ASAP, so I have something to drive. Anyone know how to do this? Bueller, Bueller? Thanks!

That 1 1/4 nut that goes on the end of the axel is on there good!I always have to use a impact gun to get it off. If i were you i would try using a bar over the ratchet or use a breaker bar even better, and try to get leverage on it. If that dosen't work that get a torch and heat the nut up some and than try to get it off. If the heat dosen't work than i don't kow.

cut the damn things out i did mine... you cut the lug stud about half way, bend the dust cover back and tap the stud out. it also helps to take the rotor off.

You might want to thread clean your other lugs...run the a die over the threads, clean them off, then hit em with a steel brush, and put antiseize on them. You shouldn't ever come across this problem again.

I've had my share of stripped threads. In fact teh Auto DX my wife drives has popped off the back driver's and front passenger's already. Stupid kids playing pranks...if I ever find them!!! But cleaning up the threads works fine.
